About Us
Small World opened in 1999 and quickly earned a reputation as an innovative early childhood centre with management and teaching teams committed to providing quality early childhood care and education. Our facilities, resources, group sizes, ratios and levels of staff qualification set new benchmarks for childcare and education in Auckland, and today we continue to lead the field in these important areas. For most families however, it is our passion for teaching and learning that makes the choice to enrol here such an easy one. Our teachers are dynamic and experienced professionals, who simply love what they do.
Small World is open from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and accepts enrolments for children aged 6 months to five years. Our core educational programme includes specialist motor development and dance and drama sessions led by expert itinerant teachers, and in their last year, each child also has the opportunity to be part of The Enquiry Room, a learning space that supports children’s emerging skills and confidence as they approach the challenges of school.
Elena Chin

Elena is provisionally registered and works in the Tui room. She has been part of the Small World team since January 2011.
Karen Stevenson
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Karen began working at Small World in January 2010 and is a teacher in the Morepork room. Karen is fully registered.
Tracy Young
(Bachelor of Education ECE)
Tracy is part of the Kiwi teaching team and is provisionally registered. She has worked at Small World since February 2009.
Sheena (Sneha) Pragji
Sneha has worked at Small World since May 2002 and is part of the teaching teams in the Tara and Tui rooms.
Ayan Nelisi
(Bachelor of Education ECE)
Ayan is the team leader in the Morepork room. Ayan has worked at Small World since July 2005. Ayan is a provisionally registered teacher.
Melissa Murray
(Bachelor of Education ECE)
Melissa began at Small World in February 2009 and is the team leader in the Pukeko room. Melissa is provisionally registered and has worked in early childhood education since 2004.
Angelique Moroney
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Angelique first began working at Small World in July 1999. Angelique is currently working with the 3 and 4 year olds.
Vasana Khamchana
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Vasana is one of the teachers in the Tara Room. She has worked at Small World since December 2005.
Vasana is on maternity leave in 2011.
Tracy Jensen
(Certificate in Professional Cookery)
Tracy is the Small World chef and has been providing the children (and staff) at Small World with delicious, nutritious meals since 2006.
Anna Hu
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Anna is part of the Takahe teaching team and has worked at Small World since January 2006, and in the field since 2000. Anna is a provisionally registered teacher.
Lynn Harris
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Lynn has been at Small World since October 2006. Lynn is the 2IC of Centre Two and is fully registered.
Brooke Dennis
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Brooke began at Small World in October 1998 and is the team leader in the Takahe room. Brooke is a provisionally registered teacher.
Jasmine Fairbrother-Robinson
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Jasmine is the teacher in the Tara Room. She is fully registered and started at Small World in April 2011.
Liezel Cawood-Crerar
(Bachelor of Education ECE)
Liezel is the release/relief teacher in Centre One, she has worked at Small World since June 2008. Liezel is a provisionally registered teacher.
Liezel is on maternity leave in 2011.
Lina Cardona
(Diploma of Teaching ECE)
Lina has worked at Small World since 2008 and is part of the teaching team in the Morepork room.
Tiffany Anderson
(Bachelor of Education ECE)
Tiffany first began working at Small World in 1998 and is now the Centre Director. Tiffany is a fully registered teacher.
